Broward County Commissioner Barbara Sharief will be installed as the FAC 2015-16 President during FAC's Annual Conference, June 16-19 at the Sawgrass Marriott in St. Johns County.
Comm. Sharief is currently in her second term as a Broward County Commissioner and served as Mayor in 2013-14. In a testament to Broward County's diversity, she was the first African-American woman to be named mayor in Broward County.
In addition to her county responsibilities, Commissioner Sharief stays busy as a mother of five and as a private business owner of the South Florida Pediatric Homecare Inc. (SFPH). Her company is considered one of the top home health care agencies in Broward and Miami-Dade Counties for care of medically complex children and adults and employs over 600 professionals.
Commissioner Sharief will be installed during the Installation Luncheon on Thursday, June 18 from 12:00-1:30 p.m. That evening, the celebration will continue with a beach-themed reception in her honor from 5:30-7:00 p.m. This relaxed and fun reception will include great food, music, and fun contests. Put on your shades and flip flops and be ready to have a great time!
